Jonathan Evans completed his PhD in October 2007. Jonathan was studying planar monopole antennas for broadband portable and mobile applications. He was the first post-graduate researcher to joint the AHFR Group (initially on the MPhil register), and has been studying part-time since September 2001 while also working at the Commission for Communications Regulation as an analyst. He graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology with a 1st class honours degree in Engineering in 1998, specialising in RF and Microwave engineering.
He is now working for RTÉ, pioneering terrestrial digital TV broadcast (DVB-T) in Ireland.
His research interests are in multi-band and wideband planar monopole antennas for mobile and portable applications. These include planar monopoles for UWB communications systems, low profile printed planar monopoles and re-configurable multi-band antennas.
