Abstract | This paper reports on a series of simulations and initial experimental results following a previously published theoretical mathematical model (M.I. Kitra et al, International ITG Conf. on Antennas (INICA), p.245-248, 2003) on material loaded antennas and their performance. The model suggests that a material containing a mix of equal permittivity and permeability can give rise to the definitive low specific absorption rate (SAR) antenna whilst maintaining a high efficiency, small size and broad bandwidth. Results obtained from a TLM simulator provide the design guidelines for efficiency, bandwidth and SAR for prototype material manufacture. |
